Using Scratch you can control the the Lights and Sensors to create a Traffic Light System.

 

Lego Mindstorm.

 

We arrived at Ormiston Horizon near Chell, Stoke-On-Trent at 9.00 am.

We then started by Building the Lego Mindstorm using the instructions.

 

 

My children enjoyed building the Mindstorm Robots.

Once they were built it was testing time.

Using the Lego Mindstorm Education Software we had to create Programs.

 

 

 

 

By plugging in the USB cable to the mindstorm it is possible to program the robots directly.

You can then create programs in the Lego Education Program.

Task 1.

Making the Robot go forward 10cm

By adding the Green Control Tank, you can make the 2 wheels go forward using positive number

Or you can make them go back using negative numbers.

So we had 50, 50 0.5 which is forward, forward, half a wheel length.

 

 

Task 2.

Make the robot turn right by 90 degrees.

By adjusting the wheels to 50, -48, 0.5. Which is one wheel forward one wheel back and half a wheel length, it turns the robot 90 degrees.

 

Task 3

Make your robot follow a square shape.

By using the first two tasks and combining them with a loop, it is possible to make the robot travel in a square shape.
