Hardware.
Previous Knowledge.
Ten years ago I was an IT Technician working in an Insurance company in Newport. I fixed everything with a plug on it from Printers, fax machines, photcopiers to computers and servers. Since then my practical skills have not been used as much as I'd like and I hope to update these with the SKE.
Strengths.
My strengths are knowing what the components are of a computer and what they do and how to fix a problem.
Weaknesses.
My weaknesses are knowing where to plug in all of my pins in a motherboard.
Current Knowledge.
It was lovely to build a computer again in the session and to see some old school kit. Building computers is an essential part of an IT career whether it is in teaching, coding or as a technician.
Teaching Ideas.
